If you blinked, you probably missed something. HubSpot has been shipping updates at a genuinely wild pace this year, and August 2026 has been one of the busier months yet. Between a platform-wide interface refresh, a serious AI agent push, and a new security certification, there's a lot to unpack — so we've done the digging for you.

Here's what's actually worth paying attention to if you're running (or marketing) a business on HubSpot right now.

A redesigned interface built to cut the noise

On August 21, HubSpot rolled out a redesigned interface that the company describes as bringing “your work into focus.” Anyone who's spent time inside HubSpot knows the platform has grown enormously — CRM, marketing, sales, service, operations, and now a whole AI layer, all under one roof. That growth is great for functionality, but it can make the day-to-day experience feel cluttered.

This redesign is HubSpot's answer to that: a cleaner navigation experience and reworked dashboards aimed at getting teams to the task at hand faster, rather than hunting through menus. Alongside it, HubSpot also renamed and relaunched its revenue reporting to better match the platform's broader changes — so if your reports look a little different this week, that's why.

Agent Hub: the biggest shift in how HubSpot works

The headline story, though, is Agent Hub — HubSpot's “central home for building and managing AI agents” across marketing, sales, and service. This isn't a single chatbot bolted onto the CRM; it's a suite of purpose-built agents, each doing a specific job using your live CRM data.

The Prospecting Agent watches buying signals and launches personalised outreach automatically — HubSpot reports customers seeing 65% more sales leads per month and 26% higher deal win rates on average. The Customer Agent handles repetitive support questions around the clock using contact and case history, with reported gains of 77% more tickets closed monthly and 39% faster resolution times. The Data Agent answers plain-English questions about contacts and companies by pulling from CRM records, calls, emails and documents, cutting prospect research time dramatically.

There's also a genuinely interesting new one: HubSpot AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation), still in beta, which tracks how visible your brand is inside AI search tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and flags content gaps. As more of your customers' research happens inside AI chat interfaces rather than traditional Google searches, this is a space we expect to matter a lot more over the next 12 months — Australian businesses that get ahead of it now will have a real edge.

For teams wanting something more bespoke, Agent Builder lets you create custom agents without writing code, using your own prompts and knowledge base. One HubSpot customer reported clawing back around 350 hours a year from a single automated workflow — the kind of time saving that matters a lot for lean Australian marketing teams wearing multiple hats.

Trust and data updates that matter behind the scenes

Two quieter announcements are worth flagging too. HubSpot achieved SOC 1 Type 2 certification on August 13, a meaningful signal for any business (especially in regulated industries) that needs assurance around financial and data controls before adopting more of the platform. And Intent Signals — HubSpot's tool for spotting companies actively researching your category — expanded to include Company Surge®, powered by Bombora, giving sales teams a stronger read on who's in-market right now rather than guessing from website visits alone.

On the integration side, HubSpot Contracts has opened up to third-party tools, making it easier to plug HubSpot's contract management into the rest of your existing tech stack rather than forcing an all-or-nothing switch.

What this means for your business

Taken together, these updates point to where HubSpot is placing its bets: AI agents doing real operational work, tighter integration with the tools you already use, and getting ahead of how AI is changing search and research behaviour. If you're an Australian SMB on HubSpot, the practical takeaway is this — it's worth carving out an hour to explore Agent Hub properly, even just to test one agent on a low-risk workflow.

As always, if you want a hand working out which of these updates are actually relevant to your setup, that's exactly the kind of thing our team at Franklin Marketing loves helping clients figure out.
